Stratford-on-Avon Angling Association was formed in 1970 from an amalgamation of Stratford Town AC and the Old Falstaff AC. In 1981 its water on the Warwickshire Avon at Manor Farm, Luddington was the venue for the World Championships. In the Days of the NFA National Championships the Association were the 3rd Division National Champions on the River Trent.

The Association now rents the fishing on several miles of the Avon at Seven Meadows, Stannells Meadow, Luddington & Manor Farm, Also a long stretch of the River Stour between Wimpstone and Preston-on Stour and an offshoot of the Avon called Hampton Lucy Brook.

New Water: River Stour, Alderminster/Crimscote.

Stratford-upon-Avon A.A. has acquired a new stretch of the Stour. The water begins at the road bridge on the road to Crimscote (a right turn about a mile past Alderminster travelling towards Shipston on the A3400) & extends downstream to the rear of Thorp’s garage in Alderminster.

Access to the water is along a farm track (which leads to barns) half-way between the village of Alderminster & the Crimscote turn. This is on the right hand side travelling towards Shipston. Parking is in the yard by the barns

(do not block any accesses).

There is also parking in a lay-by on the road to Crimscote by the Sea Scouts hut giving access to the upstream end of the water.

Several of our waters are available for clubs to book for matches at a cost of £4.50 per peg.
